OhauitiWeather - Observations for Thursday 03 October 2024
Quote from OhauitiWeather on 31 October 2024, 10:21 pm11:10 am - Just noticed that according to MetService we are under 2 Orange Rain Warnings simultaneously here. One ends at 11:00am and the other ends at 1:00pm? Wonder if they can also tell me which rain warning the rain that fell in the last 5 minutes was under?
11:11 am - I cannot find how much rain we have had in the last 24 hours or since Midnight.
According to MetService we have actually had no Rain since Midnight, Yeah Right, Nah Don't think that is correct.
11:15 am - Update: Our two Heavy Rain Warnings end at 1pm and 11pm tonight?
11:36 am - Completely clagged in here now, can hardly see past the neighbouring section but still only occasional drizzle. According to Rural Weather the rain should be over in the next hour or so until Saturday Afternoon.
13:03 pm - Light Drizzle here and the wind has dropped.
14:40 pm - A Red Heavy Rain Warning's in force for North Otago, Dunedin and coastal Clutha - with up to 150 millimetres expected. Emergency management crews are ready to respond - and Minister-in charge Mark Mitchell is heading to Dunedin.
18:37 pm - We have had Sun on and off for the last couple of hours or so here and there is more Blue Sky than clouds out the Cottage Windows.
18:58 pm - 83.7mm Rainfall in Rotorua since 12: am (Midnight). Some localised surface flooding observed by locals.
19:03 pm - Yes, that got a mention on the One News Weather just now. Seems that it was somewhat localised, like we never get it over here.
10:09 pm - Yes, it rained here (Ohauiti) and sometimes quite heavily, but we did not have the major dumps that were forecast or like Rotorua had overnight.
